Beautiful Tawny Owl chick found in one of the nestboxes on our nature reserve. This owlet is at ‘branching’ age which means it will shortly leave the box and start exploring its surroundings before it can fully fly. Parent Tawny Owls will locate the owlet during the night by its calls and feed it in situ. (Unlike Barn Owls which only feed owlets in the nest.)
