Why do we keep repeating the need to avoid identity politics? While we enjoy strong racial and religious harmony in Singapore, we are not immune to divisive identity politics. If identity politics becomes accepted, most political parties will appeal to the majority, and it is the minorities who will suffer the most. We must continu
