This cute critter is a striped polecat. Found throughout the African continent, this species inhabits diverse areas from coastal sand dunes to forests. They are nocturnal in nature, spending their days sleeping in secluded areas and emerging at night to hunt. As carnivores that feed primarily on beetles and small rodents, polecats can play an important role acting as pest control in areas with pastures, protecting crops local people depend on.
